AN ACT making appropriation s to the United Way of Northern
Nevada and the Sierra for the statewide implementation of
Dolly Parton ’s Imagination Library program ; and
providing other matters properly relating thereto.
THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEVADA, REPRESENTED IN
SENATE AND ASSEMBLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

Section 1. 1. There is hereby appropriated from th e State 1
General Fund to the United Way of Northern Nevada and the Sierra 2
for costs related to the statewide implementation of Dolly Parton ’s 3
Imagination Library program , other than administrative costs , the 4
following sums: 5
For the Fiscal Year 2025-2026 ............................... $1,491,211 6
For the Fiscal Year 2026-2027 ............................... $2,492,155 7
2. Upon acceptance of the money appropriated by subsection 1, 8
the United Way of Northern Nevada and the Sierra agrees to: 9
(a) Prepare and transmit a report to the Interim Finance 10
Committee on or before De cember 18, 2026, that describes each 11
expenditure made from the money appropriated by subsection 1 12
from the date on which the money was received by the United Way 13
of Northern Nevada and the Sierra through December 1, 2026; 14
(b) Prepare and transmit a final report to the Interim Finance 15
Committee on or before September 17, 2027, that describes each 16

expenditure made from the money appropriated by subsection 1 1
from the date on which the money was received by the United Way 2
of Northern Nevada and the Sierra through June 30, 2027; and 3
(c) Upon request of the Legislative Commission, make available 4
to the Legislative Auditor any of the books, accounts, claims, 5
reports, vouchers or other records of information, confidential or 6
otherwise, of the United Way of Norther n Nevada and the Sierra , 7
regardless of their form or location, that the Legislative Auditor 8
deems necessary to conduct an audit of the use of the money 9
appropriated by subsection 1. 10
3. The sums appropriated by subsection 1 are available for 11
either fiscal year. Any remaining balance of those sums must not be 12
committed for expenditure after June 30, 2027, by the entity to 13
which the appropriation is made or any entity to which money from 14
the appropriation is granted or otherwise transferred in any manner, 15
and any portion of the appropriated money remaining must not be 16
spent for any purpose after September 17, 2027, by either the entity 17
to which the money was appropriated or the entity to which the 18
money was subsequently granted or transferred, and must be 19
reverted to the State General Fund on or before September 17, 2027. 20
Sec. 2. 1. There is hereby appropriated from the State 21
General Fund to the United Way of Northern Nevada and the Sierra 22
for administrative costs related to the statewide implementation of 23
Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library program the following sums: 24
For the Fiscal Year 2025-2026 .................................. $315,000 25
For the Fiscal Year 2026-2027 .................................. $347,250 26
2. Upon acceptance of the money appropriated by subsection 1, 27
the United Way of Northern Nevada and the Sierra agrees to: 28
(a) Prepare and transmit a report to the Interim Finance 29
Committee on or before December 18, 2026, that describes each 30
expenditure made from the money appropriated by subsection 1 31
from the date on which the money w as received by the United Way 32
of Northern Nevada and the Sierra through December 1, 2026; 33
(b) Prepare and transmit a final report to the Interim Finance 34
Committee on or before September 17, 2027, that describes each 35
expenditure made from the money appropr iated by subsection 1 36
from the date on which the money was received by the United Way 37
of Northern Nevada and the Sierra through June 30, 2027; and 38
(c) Upon request of the Legislative Commission, make available 39
to the Legislative Auditor any of the books, accounts, claims, 40
reports, vouchers or other records of information, confidential or 41
otherwise, of the United Way of Northern Nevada and the Sierra , 42
regardless of their form or location, that the Legislative Auditor 43

3. Any balance of the sums appropriated by subsection 1 1
remaining at the end of the respective fiscal years must not be 2
committed for expenditure after June 30 of the respective fiscal 3
years by the entity to which the appropriation is made or any entity 4
to which money from the appropriation is granted or other wise 5
transferred in any manner, and any portion of the appropriated 6
money remaining must not be spent for any purpose after 7
September 18, 2026, and September 17, 2027, respectively, by 8
either the entity to which the money was appropriated or the entity 9
to which the money was subsequently granted or transferred, and 10
must be reverted to the State General Fund on or before 11
September 18, 2026, and September 17, 2027, respectively. 12
Sec. 3. This act becomes effective on July 1, 2025. 13
