STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE
In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Twenty-Six
AN ACT
expanding the number of persons eligible for the New Hampshire medal of honor.
Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:
214:1 Department of Military Affairs and Veterans Services; New Hampshire Medal of Honor. Amend the introductory paragraph of RSA 110-B:81, I to read as follows:
I. There is established a New Hampshire medal of honor, which may be awarded on behalf of the people of the state of New Hampshire to any New Hampshire citizen
, or any person lawfully serving under federal or state authority in the armed forces of the United States or the New Hampshire national guard who was a legal resident of New Hampshire at the time of the qualifying service,
who has given his or her life while in military service to protect and preserve the rights and freedoms of the people of New Hampshire on or after November 4, 1979, and while:
214:2 Effective Date. This act shall take effect January 1, 2027.
