STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE

In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Twenty-Six

AN ACT
requiring the department of education and the department of revenue administration to send school monitoring and financial reports to relevant school and school board authorities.

Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:

173:1 New Section; The State and Its Government; Department of Education; Required Annual Reports. Amend RSA 21-N by inserting after section 13 the following new section:
21-N:14 Required Annual Reports.
I. The department of education shall annually send all school monitoring and financial reports to every relevant elected school board official, school superintendent, and school business administrator. Electronic communication shall be acceptable. The department shall provide annual notifications to school board officials, superintendents, and business administrators of what reports the department expects to send each year.
II. For the purpose of this section, "monitoring report" means any formal report authored by the department of education that identifies a compliance concern or deviation from industry standards and recommends the local education agency take corrective action.

173:2 New Section; The State and Its Government; Department of Revenue Administration; Required Annual Reports. Amend RSA 21-J by inserting after section 49 the following new section:
21-J:50 Required Annual Reports.
I. The department of revenue administration shall annually, by July 10, create and send a school district audit compliance report to the department of education for distribution to every relevant elected school board official, school superintendent, and school business administrator.
II. For the purpose of this section, "compliance report" means any formal report authored by the department of education that identifies a compliance concern or deviation from industry standards and recommends the local education agency take corrective action.

173:3 Effective Date. This act shall take effect 60 days after its passage.
