���� Requires public institution of higher education to
post syllabus of each undergraduate course on its website.

An Act
concerning course offerings at public institutions of
higher education and supplementing chapter 62 of Title 18A of the New Jersey
Statutes.�

����
Be It
Enacted
by the Senate and General Assembly of
the State of New Jersey:

���� 1.� a.� Each public
institution of higher education shall post on its Internet website a syllabus
for each undergraduate course offered for academic credit by the institution
that provides:

���� (1) a brief description of
each major course requirement, assignment, and examination;

���� (2) the titles and authors of
any required or recommended reading; and

���� (3) a general description of
the subject matter of each lecture or class.

���� b.� The syllabus required
pursuant to subsection a. of this section shall be made available no later than
the seventh day before the first day of the course registration period for the
semester during which the course is being offered.�

���� 2. This act shall take effect
immediately and shall first apply to the first full academic year following the
date of enactment.

STATEMENT

���� This bill requires each public
institution of higher education to post on its Internet website a syllabus for
each undergraduate course offered for academic credit by the institution.� The
syllabus is to include:

���� (1) a brief description of
each major course requirement, assignment, and examination;

���� (2) the titles and authors of
any required or recommended reading; and

���� (3) a general description of
the subject matter of each lecture or class.

���� The bill further provides that
the syllabus is to be made available no later than the seventh day before the
first day of the course registration period for the semester during which the
course is being offered.�
