The Office of Legislative Services (OLS) concludes that this bill
will result in first-year costs of up to $200,000 stemming from the bill�s
appropriation in that amount for the needs of the task force. �If the full
$200,000 is not expended in the first year, the remaining amount will be spent
in subsequent fiscal years until the full $200,000 is exhausted.
�
The bill provides that the appropriation may, upon recommendation
of the task force, be used by the Secretary of Higher Education to hire,
contract, or partner with subject matter experts as may be necessary and
appropriate.�

The OLS also notes that members of the task force are to be
reimbursed for necessary expenditures incurred in the performance of their
duties, within the limits of funds appropriated or otherwise made available for
the task force.
BILL DESCRIPTION
����� This bill establishes the Task Force on Higher
Education Governance and Funding, and makes a $200,000 appropriation for the
needs of the task force.� Under the bill, the purpose of the task force is to
examine the State�s system of higher education, including its organization,
governance, and funding mechanisms.
