Be It
Enacted
by the Senate and the General Assembly
of the State of New Jersey:
���� 1.� In addition to the amounts
appropriated under P.L.2025, c.74, the annual appropriations act for the fiscal
year ending June 30, 2026, there is appropriated from the General Fund the
following amount for the purpose specified:

���� 2.� This act shall take effect
immediately.
STATEMENT
���� This bill makes a supplemental
appropriation of $1 million to support the New Jersey Commission on Asian
American Heritage.�
���� Under current law, the
commission is tasked with various responsibilities, including: providing
assistance and advice to public and nonpublic schools with respect to the
implementation of historical, cultural, and educational programs concerning
people of Asian and Asian American descent; infusing the history of Asian
Americans into the social studies curriculum in order to provide an accurate,
complete, and inclusive history; ensuring that teachers are equipped to
effectively teach the New Jersey Student Learning Standards in Social Studies;
and developing, in consultation with the Department of Education, curriculum
guidelines for the teaching subjects and topics concerning and relating to the
culture, history, and heritage of people of Asian and Asian American descent.
