An Act
authorizing the State Treasurer to sell certain surplus
real property and improvements owned by the State in the Borough of Lodi,
Bergen County.

Be It
Enacted
by the Senate and General Assembly of
the State of New Jersey:

���� 1. a.� The Department of the Treasury, on behalf
of the Department of Military and Veterans Affairs, is authorized to sell and
convey to the County of Bergen as surplus real property, all of the State�s
right, title, and interest in and to the property known as the Lodi Armory, in
the Borough of Lodi, Bergen County, which contains 4.01� acres of land and
improvements situated on Block 286, Lot 1.01 on the tax map of the Borough of
Lodi.� The property to be sold and conveyed has been declared surplus to the needs
of the State.

���� b.� As a condition of the sale and conveyance of
the Lodi Armory to the County of Bergen, the County of Bergen shall agree to
lease to the State, through the director of the Division of Property Management
and Construction in the Department of the Treasury, approximately 6,000 square
feet and a number of parking spaces, not to exceed 45, subject to an agreed
upon lease by both parties, from the building contained within the property
which will be known as the �Motor Vehicle Storage Building.�

���� c.� The sale and conveyance authorized by this
section shall be executed in accordance with the terms and conditions approved
by the State House Commission.

���� 2.� This act shall take effect
immediately.

STATEMENT

���� The bill authorizes the State
Treasurer, on behalf of the Department of Military and Veterans Affairs, to
sell and convey to the County of Bergen all of the State�s rights, title, and
interest within the Lodi Armory in the Borough of Lodi, Bergen County
a 4.01� acres parcel of land
and all improvements.� The property has been declared to be surplus to the
needs of the State
.�

����
The
State House Commission will set the terms and conditions of sale.� The property
has been appraised and negotiated to be sold at a price of $4,100,000 as a
direct sale to the County of Bergen.

���� As a condition of the sale,
the county is required to lease back to the State approximately 6,000 square
feet and a number of parking spaces, not to exceed 45, from the building within
the property which will be known as the �Motor Vehicle Storage Building.
