Enacted
by the Senate and the General Assembly
of the State of New Jersey:

���� 1.��� In addition to the
amounts appropriated under P.L.2025, c.74, the annual appropriations act for
the fiscal year ending June 30, 2026, there is appropriated from the General
Fund the following amount for the purpose specified:

���� 2.��� This act shall take
effect immediately.

STATEMENT

���� This bill appropriates
$615,000 to the Department of Human Services for the purpose of awarding a
grant to the NJ 2-1-1 Partnership Operating Aid.

���� In June 2000, the Federal
Communications Commission (FCC) authorized the designation of 2-1-1 for human
services information and referral programs on a nationwide basis.� The FCC, in
establishing the 2-1-1 designation, granted community groups the ability to
establish the delivery of information and referral services using this
universal access number on a state-by-state basis.

In 2002, the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities (BPU)
designated NJ 2-1-1 Partnership as the sole administrator of the 211 dialing
code in New Jersey.� Since then, NJ 2-1-1 Partnership has been providing the
2-1-1 service Statewide.
