An Act
concerning menopause and supplementing Title 26 of the
Revised Statutes.

Be It
Enacted
by the Senate and General Assembly of
the State of New Jersey:

���� 1.��� a. Commencing 180 days
following the effective date of this act, a licensed health care professional
who performs an annual physical examination on a female patient who is 40 years
of age or older shall provide the female patient an informational pamphlet on
perimenopause, menopause, and post-menopause, as prepared and published by the
Department of Health pursuant to subsection b. of this section, during the
visit.�

���� b. Within 90 days following
the effective date of this act, the Department of Health shall prepare and
publish on its Internet website an informational pamphlet on perimenopause,
menopause, and post-menopause, in order to effectuate the purposes of this act.

���� 2.� This act shall take effect
immediately.

STATEMENT

���� This bill requires menopause
information to be distributed under certain circumstances.

���� Under the bill, commencing 180
days following the bill�s effective date, a licensed health care professional
who performs an annual physical examination on a female patient who is 40 years
of age or older is to provide the female patient an informational pamphlet on
perimenopause, menopause, and post-menopause, as prepared and published by the
Department of Health pursuant to the bill, during the visit.�
