An Act

concerning certain financial information
provided by a board of education and supplementing chapter 22 of Title 18A of
the New Jersey Statutes.

Be It
Enacted
by the Senate and General Assembly of
the State of New Jersey:

���� 1.��� a.� A board of education
shall post for public inspection on its website a summary of its payroll, total
accounts payable, and weekly accounts payable. The board shall also post a
summary document that outlines in a user-friendly manner the board�s major
categories of expenditures and identifies the vendors selected through
competitive bidding or competitive contracting to provide goods and services.

���� b.��� The information required
pursuant to subsection a. of this section shall be posted on the website in a
prominent and easily accessible location and in a format approved by the
Commissioner of Education.

���� 2.��� This act shall take
effect immediately.

STATEMENT

���� This bill requires each board
of education to post for public inspection on its website a summary of its
payroll, total accounts payable, and weekly accounts payable. The bill also
requires each board to post a summary document that outlines in a user-friendly
manner the board�s major categories of expenditures and identifies the vendors
selected through competitive bidding or competitive contracting to provide goods
and services.

information must be posted in a prominent and easily accessible location and in
a format approved by the Commissioner of Education.
