An Act

requiring the New Jersey Transit Corporation to
provide Wi-Fi service on passenger trains and supplementing Title 27 of the
Revised Statutes.

Be It
Enacted
by the Senate and General Assembly of
the State of New Jersey:

���� 1.� Within six months of the
effective date of
P.L. , c. (C. )
(pending before the Legislature as this bill), the New Jersey Transit
Corporation shall provide onboard Wi-Fi service on each rail passenger vehicle
that is owned or operated by the corporation.

���� 2.��� This act shall take
effect immediately.

STATEMENT

���� This bill requires the New
Jersey Transit Corporation (corporation) to provide Wi-Fi service on each
passenger train owned or operated by the corporation.� Currently, the
corporation offers high-speed Wi-Fi hotspots at select rail stations, and the
corporation�s Wi-Fi service has been approved for expansion to the
corporation�s bus services.
