An Act
concerning replacement fees for keys and key fobs in
subsidized senior housing and supplementing
P.L.1995, c.144 (C.55:14I-6.1
et seq.)

Be It
Enacted
by the Senate and General Assembly of
the State of New Jersey:

���� 1.��� a.� If a tenant who
resides in publicly subsidized senior housing is need of a replacement key to
their apartment, the fee for a replacement key shall not exceed $25.

���� b.� If a tenant who resides in
publicly subsidized senior housing is need of a replacement key fob to their
apartment, the fee for a replacement key fob shall not exceed $50.

���� 2.��� This act shall take
effect immediately.

STATEMENT

����

���� This bill caps the fees
charged for a replacement key or key fob within publicly subsidized senior
housing.

���� The bill establishes that if a
tenant that resides in subsidized senior housing needs a new apartment key, the
fee for a replacement key may not exceed $25 under this bill.� Similarly, the
bill establishes that a tenant that resides in subsidized senior housing will
not be charged a fee in excess of $50 for a replacement key fob.

���� This bill would take effect
immediately.
