An Act
concerning the calculation of State school aid and
supplementing P.L.1996, 138 (C.18A:7F-1 et al.).

Be It
Enacted
by the Senate and General Assembly of
the State of New Jersey:
���� 1.��� a.� The Department of
Education shall, upon request of a school district, provide the district with
the following information:
���� (1) a general explanation of
the methodology used to calculate State school aid pursuant to P.L.2007, c.260
(C.18A:7F-43 et al.); and
���� (2) a more detailed review of
the specific calculation of that school district�s State school aid allocation,
including but not limited to, a review of the calculations completed to
determine the district�s adequacy budget, equalization aid, and local share.
���� b.� The department shall
complete its response to a request submitted pursuant to subsection a. of this
section within five business days of receiving the request.
���� 2.��� This act shall take
effect immediately.
STATEMENT
���� This bill requires the
Department of Education to, upon request of a school district, provide the
district with the following information:
���� (1) a general explanation of
the methodology used to calculate State school aid pursuant to the State school
funding formula law; and
���� (2) a more detailed review of
the specific calculation of that school district�s State school aid allocation,
including but not limited to, a review of the calculations completed to
determine the district�s adequacy budget, equalization aid, and local share.
���� The bill requires the
department to complete its response to a request submitted pursuant to the
bill�s provisions within five business days of receiving the request.
