An Act
concerning school board members and supplementing
P.L.1991, c.393 (C.18A:12-21 et seq.).

Be It
Enacted
by the Senate and General Assembly of
the State of New Jersey:

���� 1.��� Nothing in the �School
Ethics Act,� P.L.1991, c.393 (C.18A:12-21 et seq.), including the Code of
Ethics for School Board Members established pursuant to section 5 of P.L.2001,
c.178 (C.18A:12-24.1), shall be construed to prohibit or limit a board member
from speaking, including via social media, on a matter of public concern, such
as a school-related matter.

���� 2.��� This act shall take
effect immediately.

STATEMENT

���� This bill provides that the
�School Ethics Act� is not to be construed to prohibit or limit a board of
education member from speaking, including via social media, on a matter of
public concern, such as a school-related matter.
