CURRENT VERSION OF TEXT
 As introduced.

An Act
concerning State school aid and supplementing P.L.2007,
c.260 (C.18A:7F-43 et seq.).

Be It
Enacted
by the Senate and General Assembly of
the State of New Jersey:
 1. a. As used in this
section, State school aid means the sum of the following categories of State
school aid: equalization aid, special education categorical aid, security
categorical aid, transportation aid, and vocational expansion stabilization
aid.
 b. Notwithstanding the
provisions of P.L.2007, c.260 (C.18A:7F-43 et al.) or any other law, rule, or
regulation to the contrary, a school district that is subject to a reduction in
State school aid in the budget year as set forth in the State aid notices
distributed to school districts pursuant to section 5 of P.L.1996, c.138
(C.18A:7F-5) shall receive State school aid for the budget year in an amount
equal to the districts aid received in the prebudget year. The amount of any
reduction not applied to the districts allocation of State school aid in the
budget year pursuant to this section shall be deducted from the districts
State school aid allocation in the following budget year.
 2. This act shall take
effect immediately.
STATEMENT
 This bill holds harmless a
school district that, in one year school, is subject to a State school aid
reduction. The amount of the reduction that otherwise would have occurred for
the district in that school year, however, would be applied to the districts
allocation of State school aid provided in the following school year.
