An Act
concerning healthcare platforms and supplementing
P.L.2003, c.280 (C.45:14-40 et seq.).

Be It
Enacted
by the Senate and General Assembly of
the State of New Jersey:

���� 1.��� a. In accordance with
the requirement to advise and consult as part of the practice of pharmacy
pursuant to section 2 of P.L.2003, c.280 (C.45:14-41), a healthcare platform
shall advise and consult
with a
consumer on the therapeutic values, content, hazards and uses of drugs,
biologicals and devices sent to the consumer by the platform.

���� b.��� Advising and consulting may
occur through electronic means, including, but not limited to, electronic mail,
text messaging, and video call.

���� 2.��� This act shall take
effect immediately.

STATEMENT

���� This bill requires a
healthcare platform to follow current statutory requirements for the practice
of pharmacy and advise and consult
with
a consumer on the therapeutic values, content, hazards and uses of drugs,
biologicals and devices sent to the consumer by the platform.
� Advising
and consulting may occur through electronic means, including, but not limited
to, electronic mail, text messaging, and video call.�
�Healthcare platform� is defined in current law to mean an
Internet-based service through which a consumer, who may or may not have
separate health insurance coverage, may set-up an account or become a member to
obtain discounts on prescription or non-prescription drugs or devices and
through which other services, including telemedicine, may be provided.�
