Concurrent Resolution

recognizing
the centennial of Shrewsbury Borough.�

Whereas,
The Borough of Shrewsbury, a primarily
residential community, is located in the northeast section of Monmouth County;
and

Whereas,
The Borough of Shrewsbury consists of
approximately 2.3 square miles and was home to 4,184 residents as of the 2020
federal census; and

Whereas,
The Borough of
Shrewsbury is one
of the earliest settlements in Monmouth County, with roots dating back to the
17th century; and

Whereas,

The Borough of
Shrewsbury is home
to several late 18th to early 20th century homes and churches, including the
Christ Church and the Allen House, which were both listed on the National
Register of Historic Places in 1978; and

Whereas,

The Borough of
Sh
rewsbury was duly incorporated as a
borough by an act of the New Jersey Legislature on March 22, 1926, from
portions of Shrewsbury Township, based on the results of a referendum held on
May 11, 1926; and

Whereas,

The Borough of
Sh
rewsbury is celebrating its centennial
year in 2026; and

Whereas,
Over the past 100 years, many New Jersey
residents have come to call the Borough of
Sh
rewsbury their home; and

Whereas,
It is fitting and proper for this State to
commemorate the centennial anniversary of the Borough of Shrewsbury; now,
therefore,

Resolved
by the Senate of the State of New
Jersey (the General Assembly concurring):

���� 1.��� The Legislature
recognizes the centennial of Shrewsbury Borough in the year 2026.�

���� 2.��� Copies of this
resolution, as filed with the Secretary of State shall be transmitted by the
Clerk of the General Assembly or the Secretary of the Senate to the Mayor and
municipal clerk of the Borough of Shrewsbury.

STATEMENT

���� This concurrent resolution recognizes the centennial of
the Borough of

rewsbury.�
Shrewsbury was duly incorporated as a borough by an act of the New Jersey
Legislature on March 22, 1926, based on the results of a referendum held on May
11, 1926.�

���� The Borough of Shrewsbury is located in the northeast
