Resolved
by the Senate and General Assembly of
the State of New Jersey:

���� 1.� Section 1 of P.L.2008,
J.R.1 (C.36:2-109) is amended to read as follows:

each year is hereby designated as "Jewish
American
Heritage
Month" in the State of New Jersey to recognize and honor the diverse
contributions and achievements Jewish Americans have made to the development of
our State and the nation.

���� 2.� This joint resolution
shall take effect immediately.

STATEMENT

���� Under current law, �Jewish
Heritage Month� is observed during the month of April in this State to honor
the contributions and achievements Jewish Americans have made to this State and
to the nation.� On April 20, 2006, President George W. Bush proclaimed that May
would be �Jewish American Heritage Month.�� This resolution amends current law
to be consistent with the national observance of �Jewish American Heritage
Month� during the month of May of each year.
