The United States (US) and Ukraine are committed to a strategic partnership
rooted in shared democratic values and Ukraines sovereignty; and

STATEMENT
 This resolution urges the
Governor to enter into a sister-state relationship with the Ternopil Region of
Ukraine and expresses support for a closer partnership between the United
States (US), New Jersey (NJ), and Ukraine.
 The US and Ukraine have
maintained a strategic partnership since 1991, with the relationship rooted in
shared democratic values. Similar to NJ, the Ternopil Region of Ukraine is a
historic and culturally rich region known for its strong agricultural base,
educational institutions, and resilient communities. Sister-states are a
time-honored tradition in the US and have proven to be effective instruments
for building long-term diplomatic, economic, and cultural connections. Establishing
a sister-state relationship with the Ternopil Region of Ukraine would create
opportunities for student exchanges, business development initiatives, academic
collaboration, and humanitarian cooperation that benefit both regions.
