A Senate
Resolution
urging the State of New Jersey
to recognize September 22, 2026 as �National Family Day.�
Whereas,
Families serve as the cornerstone of society, providing emotional, social, and
economic stability to individuals and communities throughout New Jersey; and
Whereas,
Research demonstrates that strong family connections contribute to the overall
well-being of children, improve educational outcomes, and reduce risk factors
associated with social challenges; and
Whereas,
The National Family Structure Index 2025 ranks New Jersey fifteenth in the
nation�above the national average�for the proportion of adult residents who are
married, have children, and raise those children together through their high
school years; and
Whereas,
Encouraging civic engagement and community initiatives that strengthen families
enhances the social fabric of the State of New Jersey; and
Whereas,
National Family Day, observed annually on September 22, celebrates the
importance of strong family bonds and encourages families to spend meaningful
time together and to engage in community activities that support familial ties;
and
Whereas,
Formally recognizing September 22, 2026 as National Family Day will ensure that
the State continues to advance policies that promote family stability, protect
parental involvement, and support resources that help families flourish, and to
encourage all residents of the State to observe the day by spending quality
time with their loved ones and reinforcing family connections; now, therefore,

by the Senate of the State of New
Jersey:
���� 1.� This House urges the
State of New Jersey to recognize September 22, 2026
as �National Family Day� to promote awareness of the importance of strong
family bonds, ensure that the State continues to advance policies that promote
family stability, protect parental involvement, and support resources that help
families flourish, and to encourage all residents of the State to observe the
day by spending quality time with their loved ones and reinforcing family
connections.

Copies of this resolution, as filed with the Secretary of State, shall be
transmitted by the Secretary of the Senate to key stakeholders, advocacy
groups, and community leaders throughout the State.
