        AN ACT to amend the criminal procedure law, in relation  to  the  prose-
          cution  of  leaving the scene of an accident that results in the death
          of another person

          THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND  ASSEM-
        BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

     1    Section  1.  Short  title. This act shall be known and may be cited as
     2  "Pete's Law".
     3    § 2. Subdivision 3 of section 30.10 of the criminal procedure  law  is
     4  amended by adding a new paragraph (i) to read as follows:
     5    (I)  A PROSECUTION FOR ANY VIOLATION OF SUBPARAGRAPH (II) OF PARAGRAPH
     6  C OF SUBDIVISION TWO OF SECTION SIX HUNDRED OF THE VEHICLE  AND  TRAFFIC
     7  LAW MAY BE COMMENCED AT ANY TIME.
     8    § 3. This act shall take effect on the one hundred twentieth day after
     9  it shall have become a law.
