        AN ACT to amend the election law, in relation  to  removing  designating
          letters on ballots

          THE  PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
        BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

     1    Section 1. Subdivision 7 of section 7-104  of  the  election  law,  as
     2  amended  by  chapter  411  of  the  laws  of 2019, is amended to read as
     3  follows:
     4    7. The ballot shall have printed upon it in black ink for  each  party
     5  or  independent  row,  at the head of the column or the beginning of the
     6  row containing the names of candidates, the name of the party  or  inde-
     7  pendent body [and the designating letter of the row or column].
     8    § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
