        AN ACT to amend the cannabis law, in  relation  to  prohibiting  copycat
          cannabis products

          THE  PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
        BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

     1    Section 1. The cannabis law is amended by adding a new section 86-a to
     2  read as follows:
     3    § 86-A. PROHIBITION ON COPYCAT PRODUCTS. 1. NO PERSON,  FIRM,  ASSOCI-
     4  ATION  OR  CORPORATION  SHALL  WITHIN  THIS STATE MANUFACTURE, COMPOUND,
     5  BREW, DISTILL, PRODUCE, PROCESS,  PACK,  TRANSPORT,  POSSESS,  SELL,  OR
     6  OFFER  OR  EXPOSE  FOR SALE A CANNABIS PRODUCT, OR PACKAGING OR LABELING
     7  FOR A CANNABIS PRODUCT, THAT IS SUBSTANTIALLY SIMILAR TO  OR  LIKELY  TO
     8  CREATE CONFUSION WITH A NON-CANNABIS PRODUCT.
     9    2.  THE  BOARD SHALL PROMULGATE ALL RULES OR REGULATIONS NECESSARY FOR
    10  THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THIS SECTION.
    11    § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
