        AN  ACT to amend the insurance law, in relation to authorizing insurance
          agents and brokers to carry forward up to seven excess credit hours of
          continuing education credits to the next biennial licensing period

          THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND  ASSEM-
        BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

     1    Section 1. Paragraph 3 of subsection (c) of section 2132 of the insur-
     2  ance  law,  as  added  by chapter 656 of the laws of 1992, is amended to
     3  read as follows:
     4    (3) [Excess] UP TO SEVEN EXCESS credit hours  accumulated  during  any
     5  biennial  licensing  period  [shall not carry] MAY BE CARRIED forward to
     6  the next biennial licensing period for that same class of license.
     7    § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
