        AN ACT to amend the retirement and social security law, in  relation  to
          increasing the mandatory retirement age for New York police department
          members

          THE  PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
        BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

     1    Section 1. Subdivision 15 of section 501 of the retirement and  social
     2  security law, as added by chapter 890 of the laws of 1976, is amended to
     3  read as follows:
     4    15.  "Mandatory  retirement  age"  shall mean age seventy, for general
     5  members, and age sixty-two, for police/fire members, AND AGE SIXTY-FIVE,
     6  FOR POLICE MEMBERS WHO BECOME SUBJECT TO THE PROVISIONS OF THIS  ARTICLE
     7  ON OR AFTER JULY FIRST, TWO THOUSAND TWENTY-FIVE.
     8    § 2. Subdivision d of section 503 of the retirement and social securi-
     9  ty law, as amended by chapter 18 of the laws of 2012, is amended to read
    10  as follows:
    11    d.  The  normal  service  retirement benefit specified in section five
    12  hundred five of this article shall be paid to police/fire  members,  New
    13  York  city  uniformed  correction/sanitation  revised  plan  members and
    14  investigator revised plan members without regard to age upon  retirement
    15  after  twenty-two  years  of  service. Early service retirement shall be
    16  permitted upon retirement after twenty  years  of  credited  service  or
    17  attainment  of  age sixty-two OR ATTAINMENT OF AGE SIXTY-FIVE FOR POLICE
    18  MEMBERS WHO BECOME SUBJECT TO THE PROVISIONS OF THIS ARTICLE ON OR AFTER
    19  JULY FIRST, TWO THOUSAND TWENTY-FIVE, provided, however, that  New  York
    20  city   police/fire   revised  plan  members,  New  York  city  uniformed
    21  correction/sanitation revised plan members and investigator revised plan
    22  members shall not be eligible to retire for service prior to the attain-
    23  ment of twenty years of credited service.
    24    § 3. This act shall take effect immediately.
