        AN  ACT to amend the highway law, in relation to dedicating a portion of
          the state highway system to "Lt. Gary A. Scott"

          THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND  ASSEM-
        BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

     1    Section 1. The highway law is amended by adding a new section 344-r to
     2  read as follows:
     3    §  344-R.  PORTION OF THE STATE HIGHWAY SYSTEM TO BE DEDICATED TO "LT.
     4  GARY A. SCOTT". ALL THAT PORTION OF THE STATE HIGHWAY SYSTEM  CONSTITUT-
     5  ING  STATE ROUTE 19 BETWEEN LAKE STREET ROAD AND LAKE STREET IN THE TOWN
     6  OF LEROY, COUNTY OF GENESEE, SHALL BE DEDICATED TO "LT. GARY A. SCOTT".
     7    § 2. The commissioner of transportation shall provide for the  instal-
     8  lation  and  maintenance of adequate signing of the state highway system
     9  as dedicated pursuant to section one of  this  act.  However,  to  avoid
    10  confusion  and  to  limit any possible disruption of commerce, the dedi-
    11  cation called for pursuant to section one of this act shall  be  one  of
    12  ceremonial  nature  and  the  official name of such highway shall not be
    13  changed as a result of this act.
    14    § 3. This act shall take effect immediately.
