Senate Resolution No. 1628

        HONORING  Ron  Hicks  upon  the  occasion  of  his
        retirement after 30 years  of  distinguished  public
        service

  WHEREAS,   This   Legislative   Body   seeks  to  acknowledge  those
individuals whose  professional  lives  and  civic  endeavors  serve  to
enhance the stature of the State of New York; and

  WHEREAS,  Attendant  to  such  concern,  and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Ron Hicks upon  the  occasion  of  his  retirement  after  30  years  of
distinguished public service; and

  WHEREAS,  Ron  Hicks  has  devoted more than three decades to public
service in New York State and the Hudson Valley, beginning his career as
a college intern for the Speaker of the  New  York  State  Assembly  and
culminating  in  his  service  as Assistant Dutchess County Executive, a
position he has held since 2012; and

  WHEREAS,  Throughout  his  career,  Ron   Hicks   has   demonstrated
exceptional  leadership,  institutional knowledge, and a deep commitment
to strengthening local government, advancing economic  development,  and
improving  the  quality of life for residents across Dutchess County and
the Mid-Hudson region; and

  WHEREAS, Ron Hicks has played a pivotal role in fostering  workforce
development   and  economic  opportunity,  including  partnerships  with
Dutchess Community College that led to the creation of programs such  as
the  Aviation  Education  Center  and  the  Mechatronics Lab, helping to
prepare the region's workforce for in-demand careers; and

  WHEREAS, Ron Hicks has previously served as  District  Director  for
the  late  Assemblywoman  Eileen Hickey, Deputy County Clerk of Dutchess
County, Regional Director for Governor George Pataki, Regional  Director
for  Empire  State Development, and in the Office of the Dutchess County
Executive, bringing a wealth of experience and continuity to each  role;
and

  WHEREAS,  In  his  official  acts,  Ron Hicks was governed by a keen
sense of duty and always showed a unique grasp of human problems; and

  WHEREAS,  Throughout  his  distinguished  career,  Ron   Hicks   has
exemplified  the  highest  standards of public service, professionalism,
and dedication to the people of New York State; now, therefore, be it

  RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its  deliberations  to
honor  Ron  Hicks  upon the occasion of his retirement after 30 years of
distinguished public service and extend  its  sincere  appreciation  and
best wishes for continued success in all his future endeavors; and be it
further

  RESOLVED,  That  a  copy  of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Ron Hicks.
