Mourning the death of Dylan U. Valle, distinguished citizen and devoted member of his community

        MOURNING    the   death   of   Dylan   U.   Valle,
        distinguished citizen  and  devoted  member  of  his
        community

  WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to pay tribute to
citizens  of  the  State  of  New York whose lifework and civic endeavor
served to enhance the quality of life  in  their  communities  and  this
great Empire State; and

  WHEREAS, Dylan U. Valle of Bronx, New York, died on far too early on
Thursday, April 16, 2026, at the age of 55; and

  WHEREAS, Dylan U. Valle, a proud Bronx native, distinguished himself
in  his  profession  and  by  his  sincere  dedication  and  substantial
contribution to the welfare of his community and to workers  everywhere;
and

  WHEREAS, Known by many as a talented union organizer, Dylan U. Valle
dedicated time, effort, and energy to Transport Workers Union of America
(TWU) Local 100; his proudest accomplishments with TWU Local 100 include
advocating  for  fellow  union  members  and  expanding  the  School Bus
Division to bring higher wages and stronger benefits to bus drivers  and
attendants in New York City, Westchester, and Connecticut; and

  WHEREAS,  In addition to his work with TWU Local 100, Dylan U. Valle
worked at the New York Trades Council and 32BJ, where he worked  for  10
years  and  served  as  the  Hudson Valley District Leader, representing
4,000 union members; and

  WHEREAS, During his tenure at 32BJ, Dylan U. Valle protected members
on the job as a grievance representative, and he  raised  standards  for
tens  of  thousands  of  airport  workers  as  an employer relations and
bargaining coordinator;  he  fought  for  immigrant  rights,  affordable
housing,  and  other  important  issues  that  directly  impacted  union
members, many whom were first-generation immigrants  proud  to  be  32BJ
members; and

  WHEREAS, In recognition of his achievements, Dylan U. Valle received
the  Solidarity  Award  and  the Outstanding Commitment to Community and
Labor Award, issued by TWU Local 100; and

  WHEREAS, Dylan U.  Valle  was  a  champion  of  the  working  class,
immigrant   protections,   and   organized   labor;  his  commitment  to
excellence, and his spirit of humanity, carried over into all fields  of
enterprise, including charitable and civic endeavors; and

  WHEREAS,  Beyond his union work, Dylan U. Valle volunteered his time
to serve as a donations coordinator for Superstorm  Sandy  Clean  Up,  a
team  leader  for the American Cancer Society, an executive board member
for the Labor Council for Latin American Advancement, and a delegate for
the Westchester-Putnam Central Labor Council; and

  WHEREAS, Even in the most challenging moments, Dylan  U.  Valle  was
determined to lift others up, helping them feel empowered and supported;
and

  WHEREAS,  In  his  personal  time,  Dylan  U.  Valle enjoyed playing
hockey, skating, creating art, traveling, cooking, learning history, and
perfecting his carpentry skills; and

  WHEREAS, Dylan U. Valle was a man of many aspirations, and he  hoped
to  one  day  utilize  his  entrepreneurial  spirit to open a restaurant
dedicated to his children, whom he cherished deeply; and

  WHEREAS, The generous spirit, warmth, and  humility  that  Dylan  U.
Valle  carried  with  him  will  be  greatly missed by those who had the
privilege of calling him a friend; and

  WHEREAS, Dylan U. Valle is survived by a large  and  loving  family,
including  his  three  beloved  children,  Yael  Valle, Isabella (Bella)
Valle, and Olivia (Liv) Prieto; his mother, America (Amy)  Valle  Russo;
his  step-father,  Giacchino  (Jack)  Russo; his sisters, Michelle Valle
Cole (Michael Cole) and Alyssa Russo; his cousins,  Manuel  (Tommy)  and
Rodney (Roddy) Badillo, Julie-Ann Villa, Mark Gonzalez, Joey Valle, Eric
Valle,  Jessica  Rustin, Emily Russo, Diane Davenport, Laurie Yehle, and
Cheryl Stimers; his nieces and nephews; and many cousins, aunts, uncles,
friends, and co-workers from throughout his life; and

  WHEREAS, Armed with a humanistic spirit and imbued with a  sense  of
compassion, Dylan U. Valle leaves behind a legacy which will long endure
the  passage  of  time  and will remain as a comforting memory to all he
served and befriended; now, therefore, be it

  RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its  deliberations  to
mourn  the  death  of  Dylan U. Valle, distinguished citizen and devoted
member of his community; and be it further

  RESOLVED, That a copy of this  Resolution,  suitably  engrossed,  be
transmitted to the family of Dylan U. Valle.
