        COMMENDING  the  Town  of  North  Hempstead's 2026
        Senior Recognition Honorees

  WHEREAS, Senior citizens bring a wealth of experience and  knowledge
to  the  increasingly  active  roles they play in today's society; their
past contributions and future participation are a  vital  part  of,  and
valuable asset to, the fabric of community life and activity; and

  WHEREAS,  This  Legislative Body is justly proud to commend the Town
of North Hempstead's 2026 Senior Recognition Honorees, to be  celebrated
on Thursday, May 28, 2026, at Harbor Links Golf Course; and

  WHEREAS,  Members  of  older generations have helped build and shape
our Nation to be the greatest in  the  world;  they  have  defended  our
freedoms  and  values  to ensure that those who come after them may have
better lives; nowhere in the Nation is the legacy of their efforts  more
visible  and  more  a part of the lives of all citizens than here in the
State of New York; and

  WHEREAS, This year's  honorees  are:  Gloria  Rosenau,  Carle  Place
Seniors;  Marhemat  Vivanco,  EAC  Roslyn; Joseph Mattackal, ECHO; Dinah
Freeman, First Baptist Cathedral of Westbury;  Elide  Pirri  and  Sandra
Nunziata, John Michael Marino Lodge 1389 Order Sons of Italy in America;
Denise  Mannion,  Nancy Luff, and Paula Liotta, Leisure Club of New Hyde
Park; Nooshin Elian, Mashadi Jewish Community Center Senior  Club;  Alka
Patel,  MILAN;  Richard  Pape and Marty Kanefsky, North Shore University
Hospital; Warren Schein, Port Washington Adult Activities Center,  Inc.;
Ingeborg  Caruana, Project Independence-Blankets of Love; Alverna Lewis,
Project Independence-Bridge;  and  Mojgan  Khalili,  Sephardic  Heritage
Alliance (SHAI Senior Center); and

  WHEREAS,  Rare  indeed  is  the  impressive  dedication  shown by an
individual for the benefit of others which these remarkable seniors have
displayed throughout their lives; and

  WHEREAS, These incredible honorees have inspired  and  enriched  the
lives  of  those they have served through their volunteerism, generously
sharing the wisdom  gained  over  years  of  experiencing  life  to  its
fullest; now, therefore, be it

  RESOLVED,  That  this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend the Town of North Hempstead's 2026 Senior Recognition  Honorees;
and be it further

  RESOLVED,  That  copies  of  this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to the aforementioned honorees.
