Senate Resolution No. 2237

        MOURNING  the  death  of  Gerald  "Jerry" Vautrin,
        devoted  healthcare   professional,   veteran,   and
        community volunteer

  WHEREAS,  It is the custom of this Legislative Body to recognize and
pay tribute to those distinguished citizens of the  State  of  New  York
whose  lives  of  service  and dedication enriched their communities and
left a lasting legacy for future generations; and

  WHEREAS, Gerald "Jerry" Vautrin, a devoted healthcare  professional,
volunteer,  veteran, father, partner, and friend, died on March 9, 2026,
following a courageous two-year battle with pancreatic cancer; and

  WHEREAS,  Throughout  his  life,  Jerry  Vautrin   demonstrated   an
unwavering  commitment  to  serving others with compassion, dignity, and
humility; and

  WHEREAS, Jerry Vautrin served his  community  as  a  nurse  at  Good
Samaritan  Hospital,  where  he  earned  the  respect  and admiration of
colleagues and patients alike through his professionalism, kindness, and
steadfast dedication to quality care; and

  WHEREAS, In addition  to  his  work  in  healthcare,  Jerry  Vautrin
honorably  served  his  nation  as  a member of the Army National Guard,
reflecting his enduring commitment to protecting and  assisting  others;
and

  WHEREAS,  Jerry  Vautrin  was  also a longtime and devoted volunteer
with the Stony Point Ambulance Corps Inc.,  where  he  worked  alongside
fellow  first  responders in service to the residents of Stony Point and
surrounding communities; and

  WHEREAS, Those who served with  Jerry  Vautrin  remember  him  as  a
quiet,  dependable,  and  selfless  individual who was always willing to
lend assistance to anyone in need,  whether  during  emergency  response
efforts or in everyday acts of kindness and support; and

  WHEREAS,  The  members  of the Stony Point Police Department, fellow
first responders, healthcare workers, neighbors, and friends  throughout
the  community  mourn  the  loss of a man whose life exemplified service
above self; and

  WHEREAS, Jerry Vautrin was predeceased by his  beloved  wife,  Debra
Vautrin,  and  his  son,  Brian  Vautrin;  he is survived by his devoted
daughter, Christina Vautrin-Clifford and her companion, Tim Mullins; his
loving life partner, Carole Brown; his honorary son, Christopher  "Monk"
Bulson;  together with many extended family members and dear friends who
were blessed to know his warmth, generosity, humor, and compassion; and

  WHEREAS, Gerald "Jerry" Vautrin's life and legacy endure through the
countless individuals he comforted, assisted, and inspired  through  his
service  in  healthcare,  emergency medical response, military duty, and
daily life; now, therefore, be it


  RESOLVED,  That  this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
mourn the death of Gerald "Jerry" Vautrin,  noting  with  gratitude  his
many  contributions to the people of the State of New York and extending
its deepest condolences to his family, friends, colleagues, and all  who
mourn his passing; and be it further

  RESOLVED,  That  a  copy  of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to the family of Gerald "Jerry" Vautrin.
