BY: Senator PARKER

COMMENDING Maven Community Health, Inc. upon the
occasion of hosting The ManKave Summit 2026 on June
        13, 2026

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize and
pay tribute to those organizations of high purpose and worthy
accomplishment whose enduring commitment to the health, wholeness, and
generational legacy of Black men and boys has enriched the civic life of
the State of New York; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
commend Maven Community Health, Inc. upon the occasion of hosting The
ManKave  Summit  2026  on Saturday, June 13, 2026 in Brooklyn, New York;
and

WHEREAS, The ManKave Summit is a high-impact, community-centered
men's wellness experience designed to activate Black men and boys around
health, fatherhood, and generational legacy; anchored in the theme
"Love. Labor. Legacy.," the Summit blends physical activation, health
screenings, real conversations, and actionable resources to move
participants from awareness to sustained engagement, serving as a
catalyst for long-term health behavior change and connecting attendees
to care, community, and a clear path toward improved well-being and
lasting impact; and

WHEREAS, The Summit's programming encompasses youth activations,
health screenings and labs, panel discussions, breakout sessions,
Barbershop Talk, an art showcase, and direct access to Black physicians,
residents, and trainees across specialties for real conversations and
real mentorship; and

WHEREAS, The ManKave Summit operates from the foundational
understanding that the health disparities facing Black men and boys in
this country are not inevitable but are the product of systemic barriers
to care, cultural mistrust born of historical harm, and the persistent
failure of mainstream health institutions to meet Black men where they
are; and that the most powerful interventions are those that come from
within the community, led by people who look like, live like, and love
the men they are trying to reach; and

WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is proudly moved to honor Maven
Community Health, Inc., its leadership, its medical partners, and every
Black man and boy who will walk through the doors of The ManKave Summit
2026 in pursuit of a healthier, longer, and more intentional life; now,
therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Maven Community Health, Inc. upon the occasion of hosting The
ManKave Summit 2026 on June 13, 2026, and to extend congratulations and
deep appreciation for the life-saving work this organization does every
day; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Dr. Victor Ukwu and the staff of Maven Community Health,
Inc., in recognition of their unwavering commitment to the health,
legacy, and dignity of Black men and boys in Brooklyn and beyond.
