Senate Resolution No. 2268

COMMENDING Sunshine Chapter No. 34, Prince Hall
Order of Eastern Star, upon the occasion of hosting
its Five Point Tea on June 14, 2026
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize and
pay tribute to those organizations of high purpose and worthy
accomplishment whose enduring commitment to sisterhood, service, and the
traditions of the Prince Hall Order of Eastern Star has enriched the
civic and spiritual life of the State of New York; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
commend Sunshine Chapter No. 34, Prince Hall Order of Eastern Star, upon
the occasion of hosting its Five Point Tea on Sunday, June 14, 2026, at
the Prince Hall Masonic Temple in Brooklyn, New York, under the
leadership of Worthy Matron Maxine White Brown; and
WHEREAS, The dedicated sisters and brothers of Sunshine Chapter No.
34 are bound together by the five-pointed star and the timeless
teachings drawn from the lives of Adah, Ruth, Esther, Martha, and Electa
- figures of the biblical tradition whose stories of loyalty, constancy,
faith, love, and fidelity speak across the centuries to the enduring
values of the Order; and
WHEREAS, The Five Point Tea is a cherished tradition within the
Eastern Star family, a gathering that celebrates the five points of the
star, brings together sisters, brothers, families, and friends in
fellowship and joy, and reflects the warmth, grace, and communal spirit
that have always defined the very best of the Order of the Eastern Star;
and
WHEREAS, Under the leadership of Worthy Matron Maxine White Brown,
Sunshine Chapter No. 34 continues to uphold the highest traditions of
the Order, fostering a spirit of sisterhood, mentorship, and community
investment that reflects the finest ideals of the Prince Hall fraternal
family; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is proudly moved to honor Sunshine
Chapter No. 34, its Worthy Matron, its officers, and its members, whose
faithful and dedicated service represents the living tradition of the
Order of the Eastern Star at its finest; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Sunshine Chapter No. 34, Prince Hall Order of Eastern Star, upon
the occasion of hosting its Five Point Tea on June 14, 2026, and to
extend congratulations and deepest appreciation to Worthy Matron Maxine
White Brown and the entire Chapter family; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Worthy Matron Maxine White Brown and the officers and
members of Sunshine Chapter No. 34, Prince Hall Order of Eastern Star,
State of New York.
