Mourning the death of Richard J. Campbell, distinguished citizen and devoted member of his community

        MOURNING   the   death  of  Richard  J.  Campbell,
        distinguished citizen  and  devoted  member  of  his
        community

  WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to pay tribute to
citizens  of  the  State  of  New York whose lifework and civic endeavor
served to enhance the quality of life in their communities and the great
State of New York; and

  WHEREAS, Richard J. Campbell, of Montrose, New York, died on May  3,
2026, at the age of 80; and

  WHEREAS, Richard J. Campbell was born to James and Frances (Johnson)
Cambell in Brooklyn, New York, on June 24, 1945; and

  WHEREAS, Proudly serving his country, Richard Campbell was a veteran
of  the  United  States  Air  Force during the Vietnam era, serving from
1966-1968; on March 12, 1966, he married the love  of  his  life,  Linda
(Bolch)  Campbell;  they shared 47 years of marriage before her death on
September 30, 2013; and

  WHEREAS, Following his military service, Richard  Campbell  built  a
career  as  a welder, working on the Algonquin Pipeline; he found joy in
life's simple and meaningful moments and especially loved  watching  the
eagles  down  at the riverfront, a place that brought him peace; he also
enjoyed gardening and working with his hands; and

  WHEREAS, Richard Campbell had a passion for woodworking,  leaving  a
lasting  legacy,  as  his  family will always cherish the many pieces he
lovingly created; he had a lifelong love of cars, enjoyed building model
cars, and even crafted a working model boat; and

  WHEREAS, Richard J. Campbell is survived by  his  loving  daughters,
Tina  Brett  (George),  Denise  Moore  (Billy),  and  Kimberly Campbell;
cherished grandchildren, Deirdre Brett  (Christopher  Celecki),  Matthew
Moore,  and  Ethan Moore; sister, Kathleen Nagwak; and niece and nephew,
Jennifer and William Nagwak; now, therefore, be it

  RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its  deliberations  to
mourn the death of Richard J. Campbell and to honor his enduring legacy;
he  will  be  deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him;
and be it further

  RESOLVED, That a copy of this  Resolution,  suitably  engrossed,  be
transmitted to the family of Richard J. Campbell.
