Senate Resolution No. 2296

        MOURNING the death of Arthur Francis Harkins, Jr.,
        distinguished  citizen  and  devoted  member  of his
        community

  WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to pay tribute to
citizens of the State of New York  whose  lifework  and  civic  endeavor
served to enhance the quality of life in their communities and the great
State of New York; and

  WHEREAS,  Arthur  Francis Harkins, Jr., of Verplanck, New York, died
on April 11, 2026, at the age of 64; and

  WHEREAS, Arthur Francis "Arty" Harkins, Jr., was born to  Arthur  F.
Harkins,  Sr.,  and Jean Harkins in Peekskill, New York, on November 13,
1961; and

  WHEREAS, Arthur Harkins was a dedicated  member  of  his  community,
serving  as  a  longtime  member of the Montrose Fire Department and the
Buchanan Fire Department; and

  WHEREAS, Arthur Harkins was a family man; he enjoyed  spending  time
with  his  wife  and grandchildren; known for his love of the Boston Red
Sox and the New York Giants, he also enjoyed  playing  golf,  traveling,
and  enjoying  a  cold  beer  in  his backyard; he was the life of every
party, known for his sense of humor and unmatched quick wit; and

  WHEREAS, A lifelong Verplanck resident, Arthur Francis Harkins, Jr.,
is survived by his loving wife,  Kristin  O'Sullivan-Harkins;  children,
Amanda Fell and Thomas Ventura; five grandchildren, Miles, Avi, Grayson,
TJ,  and  Connor; sisters, Betty Jean O'Mara, Maureen (Charles) Eichler,
and  Marlene  Harkins-Senik;  and  many  nieces  and  nephews;  he   was
predeceased  by his sister, Eileen M. ( Harkins) Wiese; brothers-in-law,
Harold F.  O'Mara, William J. Senik, and Robert J.  Wiese;  and  nephew,
Shawn M.  O'Mara, Sr.; now, therefore, be it

  RESOLVED,  That  this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
mourn the death of  Arthur  Francis  Harkins,  Jr.,  and  to  honor  his
enduring legacy; and be it further

  RESOLVED,  That  a  copy  of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to the family of Arthur Francis Harkins, Jr.
