Commemorating the 93rd Anniversary of the New York State Conservation Council

        COMMEMORATING the 93rd Anniversary of the New York
        State Conservation Council

  WHEREAS,  It is the custom of this Legislative Body to recognize and
pay  tribute  to  those  organizations  of  high  purpose   and   worthy
accomplishment whose endeavors have faithfully served the welfare of the
citizens of the State of New York; and

  WHEREAS,  Attendant  to  such  concern,  and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this  Legislative  Body  is  justly  proud  to
commemorate  the  93rd  Anniversary  of  the New York State Conservation
Council to be celebrated in conjunction with its Annual Fall  Convention
August 28-30, 2026; and

  WHEREAS,  Founded  in  1933  during  a  pivotal  era in the Nation's
conservation movement, the New York State Conservation  Council  (NYSCC)
is  the oldest statewide conservation organization in New York State and
has served continuously for more than nine decades as  a  leading  voice
for  the  conservation,  protection,  and  responsible management of the
State's fish, wildlife, forests, waters, and outdoor resources; and

  WHEREAS, For 93 consecutive years, the New York  State  Conservation
Council  has  remained  steadfast  in  its commitment to advancing sound
conservation principles, protecting New York's  natural  resources,  and
preserving  the  outdoor  traditions  that  are  an integral part of the
State's heritage and identity; and

  WHEREAS, As the New York State Conservation Council  celebrates  its
93rd  Anniversary,  it  also  looks  toward  a significant milestone-the
organization's  Centennial  Anniversary  in  2033-which  will  mark  one
hundred  years  of  dedicated  service to the conservation of New York's
natural resources and outdoor traditions; and

  WHEREAS, The New York State Conservation Council was established  to
unite   sportsmen's   clubs,  conservation  organizations,  and  outdoor
enthusiasts under  a  common  mission  of  stewardship,  education,  and
advocacy for New York's natural resources; and

  WHEREAS, For more than nine decades, the New York State Conservation
Council  has  served  as  a forum through which local sportsmen's clubs,
county federations, and conservation  organizations  can  bring  forward
concerns,  recommendations,  and policies affecting the conservation and
management of New York's natural resources; and

  WHEREAS, Through its extensive network of affiliated  clubs,  county
federations,  and  individual  members,  the New York State Conservation
Council   advocates   on   behalf   of   hunters,   anglers,   trappers,
conservationists,  recreational shooters, and outdoor enthusiasts across
the Empire State; and

  WHEREAS, By statute, the New York State Conservation Council  serves
as  the  sole  nongovernmental  organization represented on the New York
State Conservation Fund Advisory Board and an  advisory  member  of  the

Fish  and  Wildlife Management Board, providing a unique and vital voice
for New York's sportsmen and women  in  matters  relating  to  fish  and
wildlife conservation and management; and

  WHEREAS,  Throughout  its  distinguished history, the New York State
Conservation Council has championed science-based  wildlife  management,
hunter   education,   public   access  to  outdoor  recreation,  habitat
conservation,   clean   water   initiatives,    fisheries    management,
conservation  education, and the preservation of New York's rich outdoor
heritage; and

  WHEREAS, The Council has  played  an  important  role  in  promoting
conservation   education   throughout  New  York  State  by  encouraging
responsible stewardship of natural resources and supporting  educational
programs that connect citizens of all ages to the outdoors; and

  WHEREAS, The New York State Conservation Council has long recognized
the  value of volunteerism in conservation and has supported the efforts
of volunteer Hunter Education Instructors and conservation educators who
have helped train generations of safe, ethical, and responsible hunters,
trappers, anglers, and outdoor enthusiasts; and

  WHEREAS, The Council has worked  cooperatively  with  the  New  York
State  Department  of  Environmental  Conservation,  State  and  federal
lawmakers, local governments, conservation organizations, and  countless
volunteers  to  advance  policies  and  programs  that  benefit both the
environment and the citizens of New York State; and

  WHEREAS, For 93  years,  generations  of  dedicated  volunteers  and
leaders  have  devoted  countless hours in service to the New York State
Conservation Council, ensuring that future  generations  may  enjoy  the
abundant  natural  resources and outdoor traditions that define New York
State; and

  WHEREAS, The New York State Conservation Council  remains  steadfast
in its mission to protect and enhance New York's natural resources while
promoting  responsible  outdoor  recreation, conservation education, and
public participation in the stewardship of the State's lands and waters;
and

  WHEREAS, Since 1933, the New York  State  Conservation  Council  has
helped  ensure  that  the  voices  of New York's sportsmen and women are
represented in matters affecting fish and wildlife  management,  habitat
conservation,  outdoor  recreation,  environmental  stewardship, and the
responsible use of the State's natural resources; and

  WHEREAS,   Through   its   advocacy,   educational   efforts,    and
participation   in   public  policy  discussions,  the  New  York  State
Conservation Council has served as a trusted and  respected  partner  in
advancing  the  interests  of  conservation while balancing the needs of
sportsmen and women,  landowners,  outdoor  recreationists,  and  future
generations of New Yorkers; and

  WHEREAS,  It  is fitting and proper that this Legislative Body pause
in  its  deliberations  to  recognize  and  honor  the  New  York  State
Conservation    Council   for   its   extraordinary   contributions   to
conservation, outdoor recreation, education, and the preservation of New
York's natural heritage; now, therefore, be it


  RESOLVED,  That  this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commemorate the 93rd Anniversary of  the  New  York  State  Conservation
Council  and  recognize  its  enduring  contributions  to  conservation,
outdoor recreation, and environmental stewardship throughout  the  State
of New York; and be it further

  RESOLVED,  That  copies  of  this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to the Officers and Board of Directors of the New York State
Conservation Council in recognition of its 93 years of dedicated service
to conservation, education, public stewardship, and  outdoor  recreation
throughout the State of New York.
