Commending Jaxon Egloff upon the occasion of his designation as the New York State Sportswriters Association s Class D Boys Basketball Player of the Year

        COMMENDING  Jaxon  Egloff upon the occasion of his
        designation as  the  New  York  State  Sportswriters
        Association's  Class D Boys Basketball Player of the
        Year

  WHEREAS,  Athletic  competition  enhances  the  moral  and  physical
development  of  the  young people of this State, preparing them for the
future by instilling in  them  the  value  of  teamwork,  encouraging  a
standard  of  healthy  living,  imparting  a  desire  for  success,  and
developing a sense of fair play and competition; and

  WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to  recognize  and
pay  tribute  to those young people within the State of New York who, by
achieving outstanding success in athletic competition, have inspired and
brought pride to their school and community; and

  WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and  in  full  accord  with  its
long-standing  traditions,  this  Legislative  Body  is  justly proud to
commend Jaxon Egloff upon the occasion of his  designation  as  the  New
York State Sportswriters Association's Class D Boys Basketball Player of
the Year on April 22, 2026; and

  WHEREAS,  A  junior  at Bolton Central High School, Jaxon Egloff has
consistently showcased a high level of athletic performance in the sport
of basketball, becoming just the second Section VII player to  earn  the
prestigious accolade of Player of the Year; and

  WHEREAS, Jaxon Egloff averaged 17 points, 6.7 rebounds, 4.9 assists,
1.9 steals, and 1 block per game while leading the Bolton team to a 26-1
record and its first state championship; and

  WHEREAS,  This  outstanding  young  athlete, Jaxon Egloff, was named
Most Valuable Player of  the  2026  NYSPHSAA  Class  D  boys  basketball
championships  after  starring  in  both  final  four  victories against
Bridgehampton and Sackets Harbor where he totaled 47 points while adding
seven rebounds and three assists; and

  WHEREAS, Furthermore, Jaxon  Egloff  has  surpassed  the  impressive
threshold  of  1,000  points  in  his  career  as a member of the Bolton
Central High School Boys Basketball Team, showcasing his elite  skillset
and dedication to excellence in the sport; and

  WHEREAS,  Such  success  in  competitive sports can be achieved only
through strenuous practice, a deep passion, and a sense of team  spirit,
nurtured  by dedicated coaching and strategic vision; now, therefore, be
it

  RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its  deliberations  to
commend  Jaxon  Egloff  upon  the occasion of his designation as the New
York State Sportswriters Association's Class D Boys Basketball Player of
the Year; and

  RESOLVED, That a copy of this  Resolution,  suitably  engrossed,  be
transmitted to Jaxon Egloff.
