Commemorating the 90th Anniversary of the Whitesboro Central School District

        COMMEMORATING   the   90th   Anniversary   of  the
        Whitesboro Central School District

  WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to  recognize  and
honor  those  enduring  institutions  which, through their commitment to
education and community, have profoundly contributed to the  development
and vitality of the State of New York; and

  WHEREAS,  Attendant  to  such  concern,  and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this  Legislative  Body  is  justly  proud  to
commemorate  the  90th  Anniversary  of  the  Whitesboro  Central School
District to be celebrated on May 11, 2026; and

  WHEREAS, On May 11, 1936, the Whitesboro Central School District was
officially established through the  centralization  of  several  smaller
local  school  districts, marking a transformative moment in the history
of public education in the Mohawk Valley; and

  WHEREAS, The formation of the  Whitesboro  Central  School  District
enabled  the  development of a unified educational system, including the
construction of a modern high school facility, which  provided  expanded
academic  programming  and opportunities for students across the region;
and

  WHEREAS, For nine decades, the Whitesboro  Central  School  District
has  remained  steadfast in its mission to educate, inspire, and prepare
students for success, serving families across the Towns  of  Whitestown,
Marcy, Deerfield, Schuyler, and Trenton; and

  WHEREAS,   Countless  families  have  received  a  prized  education
throughout  the  distinguished  history  of  Whitesboro  Central  School
District,  which  has  demonstrated a commitment to academic excellence,
innovation, and community engagement, fostering generations of  students
who  have  gone  on to contribute meaningfully to their communities, the
State of New York, and beyond; and

  WHEREAS,  The  Whitesboro  Central  School  District  stands  as   a
testament  to  the power of collaboration and shared purpose, reflecting
the values and resilience of the Mohawk Valley and its people; and

  WHEREAS, The district will commemorate  this  significant  milestone
with a 90th Anniversary celebration to be held on May 11, 2026, bringing
together students, alumni, educators, and community members to honor its
proud legacy and enduring contributions; and

  WHEREAS,  As part of this commemoration, the district will establish
a 25-year time capsule to preserve the stories, achievements, and spirit
of the community, to be opened by a future generation in the year  2051,
symbolizing a lasting connection between past, present, and future; and

  WHEREAS,  The  90th  Anniversary  of  the  Whitesboro Central School
District's centralization provides a meaningful opportunity  to  reflect

upon its rich history, celebrate its achievements, and look forward to a
future of continued growth and success; now, therefore, be it

  RESOLVED,  That  this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commemorate the  90th  Anniversary  of  the  Whitesboro  Central  School
District, recognizing 90 years of learning and legacy; and be it further

  RESOLVED,  That  a  copy  of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to the Whitesboro Central School District.
