Assembly Resolution No. 1423

CONGRATULATING the Syracuse Chargers RFC upon the
occasion of winning the Division 3 USA Rugby Club
National Championship
WHEREAS, Team championships are highly sought in sports; this
Legislative Body commends rare athletic achievements and pays special
recognition to those who pursue such excellence and bring honor to this
great Empire State; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to congratulate the
Syracuse Chargers RFC upon the occasion of winning the Division 3 USA
Rugby Club National Championship on Sunday, May 17, 2026; and
WHEREAS, Empire Rugby is proud to celebrate a historic weekend for
the union as the Syracuse Chargers won the USA Rugby Club National
Championship in Division 3; and
WHEREAS, The Syracuse Chargers captured the USA Rugby Men's D3
National Championship in dramatic fashion with a 46-44 comeback victory
over Old Red Eye Rugby Club in the final; Syracuse reached the
championship match after a dominant 58-19 semifinal win over Life West,
capping off an outstanding postseason run for the club; and
WHEREAS, The championship represents a significant achievement for
Empire Rugby and showcases the strength and depth of club rugby across
the Nation; Empire clubs continue to demonstrate the competitiveness,
culture, and commitment that define rugby throughout the region; and
WHEREAS, Empire Rugby congratulates the members of the Syracuse
Chargers on their national title and looks forward to continuing to
build on the momentum and success across all levels of competition; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body congratulates the players, coaches,
administrators, and supporters of the Syracuse Chargers for representing
their club and Empire Rugby at the highest level; and
WHEREAS, In a sport, such as rugby, which demands athletic prowess,
speed, and agility, the coaches and their incredible coaching staff
members worked hard to hone the skills of this championship team; and
WHEREAS, All the outstanding athletes of the Syracuse Chargers have
clearly utilized dedication, determination, and teamwork in providing a
lasting contribution to the spirit of excellence which is a tradition of
rugby clubs; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate the Syracuse Chargers RFC upon the occasion of winning the
Division 3 USA Rugby Club National Championship; and be it further
RESOLVED, That copies of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to the members of the Syracuse Chargers RFC.
