Assembly Resolution No. 1485

        COMMEMORATING the 50th Anniversary of the New York
        Aviation Management Association

  WHEREAS,  It  is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize the
achievements and milestones of those organizations  which  substantially
contribute  to  the economic vitality of their communities and the State
of New York; and

  WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and  in  full  accord  with  its
long-standing  traditions,  this  Legislative  Body  is  justly proud to
commemorate  50th  Anniversary  of  the  New  York  Aviation  Management
Association; and

  WHEREAS,  The  New  York Aviation Management Association (NYAMA) was
founded in  1976  as  the  New  York  Airport  Managers  Association  by
representatives  of  New  York  State airports as a means to harness and
maximize the economic potential of New York's aviation industry; and

  WHEREAS, NYAMA's mission is to promote the  viability  and  business
interests  of  New  York  State's airports, which are the centerpiece of
aviation services and drivers of economic development; and

  WHEREAS, For  five  decades,  NYAMA  has  brought  together  airport
leaders, aviation professionals, and partners from across New York State
to  strengthen the state's aviation system, support economic growth, and
promote safe, reliable access to our communities; and

  WHEREAS, NYAMA is  able  to  reflect  on  an  impactful  history  in
advocacy, education, communications, and business services; and

  WHEREAS,  NYAMA  has  been  at  the  center  of the State's aviation
community, providing a forum for members  to  exchange  information,  to
connect with industry leaders and experts; and

  WHEREAS,  NYAMA has established scholarships for students who embody
the future of aviation and are enrolled  or  will  be  enrolling  in  an
institution  of  higher  learning  in  the field of aviation in New York
State; and

  WHEREAS, The 13,000 industry partners represented by  NYAMA  members
and  affiliate members include airport managers and representatives from
over 120 of the commercial and general aviation airports in  the  state;
and

  WHEREAS,   NYAMA  provided  unwavering  guidance  through  difficult
periods for the Empire  State  which  included  9/11  and  the  COVID-19
Pandemic; and

  WHEREAS,  It is the custom of this Legislative Body to recognize and
commend those  organizations  that  have  brought  economic  growth  and
vitality to the citizens of the State of New York; now, therefore, be it

  RESOLVED,  That  this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commemorate the 50th Anniversary of the  New  York  Aviation  Management
Association; and be it further

  RESOLVED,  That  a  copy  of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to the New York Aviation Management Association.
