          printed to be committed to the Committee on Transportation

        AN ACT to amend the highway law, in relation to designating  the  Scaja-
          quada pedestrian bridge as the "9.11 Heroes Bridge"

          THE  PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
        BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

     1    Section 1. The highway law is amended by adding a new section  256  to
     2  read as follows:
     3    §  256.  SCAJAQUADA  PEDESTRIAN  BRIDGE  TO BE DESIGNATED AS THE "9.11
     4  HEROES BRIDGE". THE PEDESTRIAN BRIDGE THAT SPANS NEW  YORK  STATE  ROUTE
     5  198, KNOWN AS THE SCAJAQUADA EXPRESSWAY, FROM NOTTINGHAM TERRACE TO HOYT
     6  LAKE  IN  DELAWARE PARK IN THE CITY OF BUFFALO, COUNTY OF ERIE, SHALL BE
     7  DESIGNATED AND KNOWN AS THE "9.11 HEROES BRIDGE".
     8    § 2. The commissioner of transportation shall provide for the  instal-
     9  lation  and  maintenance  of  adequate signing as designated pursuant to
    10  section one of this act.
    11    § 3. This act shall take effect immediately.
