        Introduced  by  Sen.  BAILEY -- read twice and ordered printed, and when
          printed to be committed to the Committee on Insurance

        AN ACT to amend the insurance law, in relation  to  permitting  licensed
          insurance  agents, brokers, adjusters, consultants, and intermediaries
          to carryover up to seven hours  of  continuing  education  credit  per
          biennial licensing period

          THE  PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
        BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

     1    Section 1. Paragraph 3 of subsection (c) of section 2132 of the insur-
     2  ance law, as added by chapter 656 of the laws of  1992,  is  amended  to
     3  read as follows:
     4    (3)  [Excess  credit  hours  accumulated during any biennial licensing
     5  period shall not carry forward to the next biennial licensing period for
     6  that same class of license.] UP TO SEVEN EXCESS CREDIT HOURS ACCUMULATED
     7  DURING ANY BIENNIAL LICENSING PERIOD MAY BE CARRIED FORWARD TO THE  NEXT
     8  BIENNIAL LICENSING PERIOD FOR THAT SAME CLASS OF LICENSE.
     9    § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
