        Introduced  by  Sen.  STEC  --  read twice and ordered printed, and when
          printed to be committed to the Committee on Health

        AN ACT to authorize certain health care professionals licensed to  prac-
          tice  in  other  jurisdictions to practice in this state in connection
          with an event sanctioned  by  the  World  Triathlon  Corporation;  and
          providing for the repeal of such provisions upon expiration thereof

          THE  PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
        BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

     1    Section 1. Notwithstanding any  inconsistent  provision  of  law,  any
     2  person  who  is licensed or certified to practice as a physician, physi-
     3  cian assistant, massage  therapist,  physical  therapist,  chiropractor,
     4  dentist, optometrist, nurse, nurse practitioner, emergency medical tech-
     5  nician,  podiatrist  or  athletic trainer in another state or territory,
     6  who is in good standing in such state or  territory  and  who  has  been
     7  appointed  by  the  World  Triathlon Corporation to provide professional
     8  services at an event in this state sanctioned  by  the  World  Triathlon
     9  Corporation, may provide such professional services to athletes and team
    10  personnel  registered to train at a location in this state or registered
    11  to compete in an event conducted under the sanction of the World Triath-
    12  lon Corporation in the state without first being  licensed  pursuant  to
    13  the  provisions of title 8 of the education law or certified pursuant to
    14  the provisions of the public health law,  as  may  be  applicable.  Such
    15  services  shall  be provided only four days before through one day after
    16  the Ironman Lake Placid scheduled to be held on July 19, 2026.
    17    § 2. This act shall take effect immediately and shall  expire  and  be
    18  deemed repealed July 22, 2026.
