        Introduced  by  Sens.  PERSAUD,  HARCKHAM, LIU -- read twice and ordered
          printed, and when printed to be committed to the Committee on  Women's
          Issues

        AN  ACT  to  amend the public health law, in relation to establishing an
          awareness campaign on the use of hormone replacement therapy in treat-
          ing the symptoms of perimenopause and menopause

          THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND  ASSEM-
        BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

     1    Section  1.  Subdivision  1 of section 207 of the public health law is
     2  amended by adding a new paragraph (t) to read as follows:
     3    (T) HORMONE REPLACEMENT THERAPY, INCLUDING  INFORMATION  ON  PERIMENO-
     4  PAUSE  AND  MENOPAUSE,  ASSOCIATED SYMPTOMS, AND POTENTIAL HEALTH RISKS;
     5  THE TYPES OF HORMONE REPLACEMENT THERAPY AVAILABLE  INCLUDING  BENEFITS,
     6  RISKS  AND  SIDE  EFFECTS;  AND CURRENT RECOMMENDATIONS FOR THE USAGE OF
     7  HORMONE REPLACEMENT THERAPY AND OTHER RELEVANT INFORMATION.
     8    § 2. This act shall take effect on the sixtieth  day  after  it  shall
     9  have become a law. Effective immediately, the addition, amendment and/or
    10  repeal  of  any  rule  or regulation necessary for the implementation of
    11  this act on its effective date are authorized to be made  and  completed
    12  on or before such effective date.
