        Introduced  by  Sen. SALAZAR -- read twice and ordered printed, and when
          printed to be committed to the Committee on Health

        AN ACT to amend the  social  services  law,  in  relation  to  including
          seizure detecting monitors for certain infants under standard coverage
          for Medicaid recipients

          THE  PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
        BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

     1    Section 1. Subdivision 2 of section 365-a of the social  services  law
     2  is amended by adding a new paragraph (oo) to read as follows:
     3    (OO)  SEIZURE  DETECTING MONITORS FOR INFANTS WHO HAVE EPILEPSY, OTHER
     4  SEIZURE DISORDERS, OR A FAMILY HISTORY OF SEIZURES.  COVERAGE  FOR  SUCH
     5  MONITORS  SHALL BE LIMITED TO ONE HUNDRED FIFTY DOLLARS FOR EACH MONITOR
     6  COVERED.
     7    § 2. This act shall take effect immediately and  shall  apply  to  all
     8  policies  and contracts issued, renewed, modified, altered or amended on
     9  or after such date.
