        Introduced  by  Sen. SANDERS -- read twice and ordered printed, and when
          printed to be committed to the Committee on Investigations and Govern-
          ment Operations

        AN ACT to amend the alcoholic  beverage  control  law,  in  relation  to
          requiring retail licensees for on-premises alcohol consumption provide
          tap water upon request

          THE  PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
        BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

     1    Section 1. Section 106  of  the  alcoholic  beverage  control  law  is
     2  amended by adding a new subdivision 18 to read as follows:
     3    18.  ALL  RETAIL  LICENSEES FOR ON-PREMISES CONSUMPTION, EXCEPT CORPO-
     4  RATIONS OPERATING A VESSEL, RAILROAD CAR, OR AIRCRAFT BEING OPERATED  ON
     5  REGULARLY  SCHEDULED  FLIGHTS  BY  A UNITED STATES CERTIFICATED AIRLINE,
     6  SHALL SERVE TAP WATER TO A PATRON, UPON REQUEST,  AT  NO  COST  TO  SUCH
     7  PATRON.  SUCH  WATER  SHALL  MEET  ALL  FEDERAL  AND  STATE REQUIREMENTS
     8  CONCERNING PURITY OF DRINKING WATER AND SHALL BE SUPPLIED IN A  RECEPTA-
     9  CLE OF NOT LESS THAN EIGHT OUNCES PER SERVING.
    10    §  2.  This  act shall take effect on the thirtieth day after it shall
    11  have become a law.
