        Introduced  by  Sen.  BASKIN -- read twice and ordered printed, and when
          printed to be committed to the Committee on Transportation

        AN ACT to amend the highway law, in relation to dedicating a portion  of
          the state highway system to PFC Travis C. Krege

          THE  PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
        BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

     1    Section 1. The highway law is amended by adding a new section 344-s to
     2  read as follows:
     3    § 344-S. PORTION OF THE STATE HIGHWAY SYSTEM TO BE  DEDICATED  TO  PFC
     4  TRAVIS C. KREGE. ALL THAT PORTION OF THE STATE HIGHWAY SYSTEM CONSTITUT-
     5  ING  THE  BRIDGE  ON CLEVELAND DRIVE CROSSING INTERSTATE ROUTE 90 IN THE
     6  TOWN OF CHEEKTOWAGA, COUNTY OF ERIE, SHALL BE DEDICATED TO PFC TRAVIS C.
     7  KREGE.
     8    § 2. The commissioner of transportation shall provide for the  instal-
     9  lation  and  maintenance of adequate signing of the state highway system
    10  as dedicated pursuant to section one of this  act,  provided  that  such
    11  signing shall state "Bridge Dedicated to PFC Travis C. Krege".  However,
    12  to avoid confusion and to limit any possible disruption of commerce, the
    13  dedication  called  for pursuant to section one of this act shall be one
    14  of ceremonial nature and the official name of such bridge shall  not  be
    15  changed as a result of this act.
    16    § 3. This act shall take effect immediately.
