GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF NORTH CAROLINA SESSION 2025 H 1 HOUSE BILL 1049 Short Title: Funding for Shotgun House Museum. (Public) Sponsors: Representative K. Brown. Referred to: Appropriations, if favorable, Rules, Calendar, and Operations of the House April 28, 2026 *H1049-v-1* A BILL TO BE ENTITLED 1 AN ACT TO PROVIDE FUNDING FOR THE SHOTGUN HOUSE MUSEUM. 2 The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts: 3 SECTION 1. There is appropriated from the General Fund to the Office of State 4 Budget and Management the sum of two hundred fifty thousand dollars ($250,000) in 5 nonrecurring funds for the 2026 -2027 fiscal year to provide a directed grant to Triad Cultural 6 Arts, Inc., a nonprofit organization, to support improvements to the restored Shotgun House in 7 the City of Winston-Salem to further its purpose as serving as an immersive museum for students, 8 visitors, and community gatherings. 9 SECTION 2. This act becomes effective July 1, 2026. 10
