A BILL TO BE ENTITLED 1
AN ACT TO PROVIDE FUNDING TO IMPROVE H EALTHCARE AND STRENG THEN 2
HEALTH SYSTEMS FOR SENIORS AND VULNERABLE POPULATIONS. 3
The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts: 4
SECTION 1. There is appropriated from the General Fund to the Office of State 5
Budget and Management the sum of two hundred fifty thousand dollars ($250,000) in 6
nonrecurring funds for the 2026 -2027 fiscal year to provide a directed grant to MedAid 7
Foundation Incorporated, a nonprofit organization, to expand healthcare access, improve senior 8
care, and strengthen community health systems for vulnerable populations who face barriers to 9
healthcare access, including the lack of affordable supplies, limited preventive care , and 10
inadequate support from existing facilities. 11
SECTION 2. This act becomes effective July 1, 2026. 12
