AN ACT TO APPROPRIAT E FUNDS TO WAKABOOME E FOR S.T.E.A.M. 2
OPPORTUNITIES FOR RURAL AND UNDERSERVED COMMUNITIES. 3
The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts: 4
SECTION 1. There is appropriated from the General Fund to the Office of State 5
Budget and Management the sum of one hundred thousand dollars ($100,000) in nonrecurring 6
funds for the 2026 -2027 fiscal year to be allocated as a grant to Wakaboomee, a nonprofit 7
corporation, to expand the Wakaboomee's statewide reach into Johnston and Wayne Counties, 8
bringing programming to rural and underserved communities, delivering science, technology, 9
engineering, arts, and mathematics to community members. 10
SECTION 2. This act becomes effective July 1, 2026. 11
