A BILL TO BE ENTITLED 1
AN ACT TO APPROPRIAT E FUNDS TO UPDATE TH E UTILITIES AND STRE ET 2
INFRASTRUCTURE AT THE CORNER OF HIGHWAY 49 (NORTH TRYON STREET) 3
AND EASTWAY DRIVE. 4
The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts: 5
SECTION 1. There is appropriated from the Highway Fund to the Department of 6
Transportation the sum of two million five hundred thousand dollars ($2,500,000) in 7
nonrecurring funds for the 2026 -2027 fiscal year to be used to update the utilities and street 8
infrastructure at the corner of Highway 49 (North Tryon Street) and Eastway Drive to facilitate 9
the safe crossing of the intersection for pedestrians. 10
SECTION 2. This act becomes effective July 1, 2026. 11
